Services

Individual Therapy
Therapy for adults and teens who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, burnt out, or stuck in survival mode. We can work on grounding, emotional regulation, boundaries, identity integration, shame, trauma recovery, and building a life that actually fits you.
Special focus: LGBTQIA2S+ clients, people of the global majority, and people navigating complex family systems.

Family Therapy
Family therapy focused on strengthening communication, repairing ruptures, and supporting youth and caregivers through conflict, transitions, and stress. I hold space for intergenerational dynamics and cultural context, especially when identity, power, and values are part of the tension.

My Approach
My work is trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and relational. I draw from liberation psychology, narrative approaches, and somatic awareness, with attention to culture, history, and power. You can expect collaboration, transparency, and language that protects your dignity.

Available via telehealth. In-person options may be limited depending on location and schedule.

About Abeytax

I’m a Queer, Non-Binary, Afro-Indigenous Taíno clinician based in Portland. I believe therapy is most effective when it is honest, culturally grounded, and relationship-centered. Many of my clients are navigating not only personal pain, but also the weight of systems: racism, transphobia, religious stigma, family rejection, poverty stress, medical harm, and workplace burnout. In our work together, we’ll focus on safety, meaning, boundaries, and building tools that support real life, not perfection. What working with me is like:
• A space where your identity is not debated
• Practical and emotionally attuned sessions
• Collaborative goal-setting and transparent care
• Trauma work that doesn’t pathologize you
I practice under clinical supervision as required by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.

If you’re interested in working together, please reach out to request a consult. I’ll respond within 1–2 business days.

Fees: $40 - $80 / 50-min session
Sliding scale: limited spots reserved for BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, students, single parents, and others impacted by systemic barriers.
